Fun facts

Ketchup is one of North America’s most popular condiments. This sweet, bright red, tomato-based sauce is well loved and goes on all kinds of food. Interestingly, ketchup originally wasn’t even red! It was a vinegar-based sauce, and didn’t contain any tomatoes until the 19th century.

Expressions you’ll learn in this episode:

  • All the fixings
  • All dressed
  • The works
  • To turn [something] down
  • To be down with/for [something]
