Finland is the least densely populated country in the European Union; the average population density is only 16 people per km2! Finland also has a very dark winter; every year, several winter weeks pass without the sun ever rising. Nonetheless, despite the dark, cold winter, Finland was voted one of the happiest countries in the world.
